  • What is bathtub refinishing?
Bathtub refinishing is a process that restores the appearance and surface damage of an old bathtub. It involves deep cleaning, filling any chips or cracks, removing old coating (if any), and applying a new urethane-based low VOC industrial-grade coating system.

  • How do refinishing costs compare to replacement costs?
Refinishing is significantly cheaper, often saving 80% to 90% compared to the cost of replacement, which involves additional expenses, time, and stress.
  • How long does the refinishing process take?
Standard-sized bathtubs can be refinished in 3-5 hours, depending on their condition. A bathtub and tile surround takes 6-8 hours on average to complete.
  • How soon can I use my refinished bathtub or surface?
Most refinished surfaces, including tubs, can be used within 24 hours. However, floor tiles usually require a 72-hour wait before usage.
  • How long will the new finish last?
With proper care and maintenance, a refinished bathtub can last 10 to 12 years.
  • Does a refinished surface look like it has been painted?
No, a professionally refinished surface will have a deep gloss, making it difficult to distinguish from a brand-new surface.
  • What colors are available for refinishing?
We currently offer Pure White, China/Kohler White, American Standard White, Kohler Biscuit/American Standard Linen, American Standard Bone, and Kohler Almond. Custom colors are coming soon!
  • Does the refinishing process produce odors?
Refinishing topcoats contain solvents. A powerful ventilation system is used to exhaust odors outside, significantly reducing the smell. We recommend closing the bathroom door and leaving your exhaust fan on for 24 hours while the coating is curing.
  • What makes a refinishing process superior?
A combination of thorough preparation, an industry-leading coating system, experienced technicians, and attention to detail ensures a high-quality, durable finish.
  • Do you offer a discount if I have multiple units that need to be refinished?
Yes! To get rates, please contact us by filling out the form, phone, or email.
  • Is there a warranty for refinishing services?
TruRenew Solutions stands behind the quality and durability of our refinishing services by offering a 5-year warranty. This warranty covers peeling, adhesion failure, and craftsmanship under normal use conditions. It reflects our confidence in our materials and techniques. Customers are encouraged to review the terms and conditions of the warranty to understand the coverage details and any maintenance requirements needed to maintain the warranty’s validity.
  • How should I clean and maintain my refinished surface?
Clean the bathtub or shower regularly with a liquid non-abrasive cleaner that does not contain bleach or harsh chemicals. Avoid storing soaps and other products on the surface. Wipe dry any standing water. Leaky faucets should be repaired promptly to prevent damage. Remove bath mats after every use. Keeping your newly refinished bathtub or shower clean and dry will give you many years of problem-free use.
  • Are environmentally friendly refinishing options available?
Yes, we offer a low VOC coating system.
  • What types of repairs can be done during refinishing?
Chips, cracks, holes, rust, scratches, dull spots, pits, and discoloration. Cracked floors in fiberglass bathtubs or showers can be repaired as well.
  • Should my bathtub be refinished before or after remodeling my bathroom?
It’s best to refinish as the last step of the remodeling process to avoid damage from construction activities.
  • Can a slippery bathtub floor be made safer?
Yes, a permanent non-slip bathmat can be installed after the coating has completely cured.
